About Cabot

Cabot Arkansas

Cabot, Arkansas

Cabot is a small(ish) town outside of Little Rock, often referred to as a bedroom community of the larger metro area of Little Rock and North Little Rock.

One of the biggest draws for Cabot is its excellent school system. In fact, the school system is exactly why I personally chose to live in Cabot.

Cabot is the largest city in Lonoke County, Arkansas. According to 2006 U.S. Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 21,040, ranking it as the state’s 20th largest city, behind Van Buren. It is part of the Little Rock – North Little Rock – Conway Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Cabot has the third highest median household income in Arkansas after Maumelle and White Hall.

Wikipedia has some interesting information about Cabot including the history and demographics.

Here is a link to the official homepage of Cabot from where I copied much of the information about Cabot. (OK I admit it)

Little Rock Air Force Base (LRAFB)

The largest employer in the area surrounding Cabot is the US Air Force with their base in Jacksonville. LRAFB. I work with many of the military families who need housing within driving distance to the base. Cabot is roughly 8 to 10 minutes from LRAFB.

Why live in Cabot?

Cabot offers a small town feel while being just about 20 minutes from Little Rock. The people are friendly and for the most part well behaved. Cabot has a nice movie theater, a newer bowling alley and a well ranked High School Football team. There are a multitude of Churches, several nice restaurants and of course our own Wal-Mart Supercenter!  Recently opened is a new Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market and there is a new aquatic center just south of town.
